"Looking For A Leg Up" · 11.02.10

Toronto writer and fellow racing blogger Keith McCalmont, a.k.a. Triple Dead Heat, has sounded an alarm about the financial straits that New Stride Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation (see also their entry to the left under “Links”) currently finds itself. Apparently a benefactor who had agreed to foster eight of their horses had to back out of the deal when he “fell victim to the financial crisis and was no longer able to support them”. So now New Stride has to look after eight horses they hadn’t budgeted for, and they are hurting.

If you’re in the market for a horse, or can at least make a modest donation, please consider New Stride.
