Stayers' Watch: Tokyo City Cup · 9.04.10
In his long-distance debut, Tap It Light won the $100,000 Tokyo City Cup (gr. III) at Santa Anita on March 27. Tap It Light stalked the pace early behind High Court Drama. Eagle Poise took over the lead after a half-mile when High Court Drama was pulled up with an undisclosed injury, and held the lead going into the stretch. Tap it Light had moved up into second around the six furlong mark, took over from Eagle Poise in the stretch, then held off Rendezvous’ late bid to score by three-quarters of a length. Eagle Poise held on gamely for third, another half-length back. Tap It Light’s time for the 1 1/2 miles over Santa Anita’s fast Pro-Ride main track was 2:29.62.

Beulah had a two miler this week and Oaklawn’s last race of the meet will be at 14 furlongs. Maybe someone is listening!

Were these claimers, allowances, or stakes? And a counter-example: the Yourmissinthepoint Stakes, a 13f overnight stakes scheduled for Aqueduct late last month, doesn’t not appear anywhere in the DRF results (not enough entries?)
