Just a quick note, taking the opportunity to link to several new(ish) websites that cover the local racing scene:
- HorseRacingBC — Hosted by handicapper and journalist Jim Reynolds, who also publishes a monthly newspaper by the same title, distributed at Hastings and various racebook establishments. Not to be confused with….
- BC Horse Racing — Billing itself as the “independent source for racing info”, it is also being promoted by Hastings, with race-day PA announcements and full-page adverts in its programmes. “Official” launch is this Friday, 14 May.
- The Derby Bar and Grill — “A Prime Entertainment and Dining House”, located near the Pacific Border Crossing in Surrey, their website features racing news, workout tabs, and race picks.

So far the BC Horse racing site is pitiful…It needs tons of work and sounds like a real amateur is the author.

Thanks for adding the three new web sites, up here in the ‘bushes’ I never hear whats going on! By the way, what the hell happened to Mike Heads, the bimbo, (whoops I mean lady) replacing him on the interviews leaves something to be desired.

Talked to Glen Todd yesterday and they have a great trivia contest at the Derby Bar and Grill website. Just sign up for it and a new question is out every AM with good prizes to boot.

It’s pretty obvious that BC Horse Racing isn’t a site for established horse people. BChorseracing is geared towards a younger demographic to get them interested and excited about the basics of thoroughbred racing.
