Barroby gains highest honour · 18.05.10
Veteran British Columbia-based trainer Frank Barroby was inducted into the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame, it was announced earlier today.
Barroby originally made his mark as a jockey in Western Canada, winning riding titles in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and B.C. over the course of his career. After retiring as a jockey he became a trainer, basing his operations at Vancouver’s Exhibition Park (now Hastings park). He has been the leading trainer at Hastings Park three times. He is the first B.C.-based trainer to be elected to the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame — he was elected to the B.C. Thoroughbred Hall of Fame in 2009.
Congratulations, Frank!

There was another BC based jockey up for the same slot who made a name for himself, first at Hastings, and then as the regular rider of Izvestia and won apprentice of the year in both the US and Canada: Mickey Walls of Langley BC.
Maybe he will get in down the line.
