Stayers' Watch: Round Table Handicap · 16.06.08

Cedar Mountain set a new Hollywood Park turf course record for 1 3/4 miles in the Round Table Handicap on June 14, coming from last in the eight-horse field to win the ungraded stayers’ race in 2:53.65. Transduction Gold had the lead in the stretch, but Cedar Mountain — an Irish-bred bay gelding by English Derby winner Galileo — overtook him to prevail by 2 3/4 lengths. Pre-race favourite and high-weight Porfido was another length back in third.
